We've created clues to help you identify 16 different books (they're all well-known). The more you can guess, the greater will be your chances of winning our £50 voucher!

We've created clues to 16 (famous) book titles, with two from each of the following 8 authors (listed here in alphabetical order, although in the clues the order of the book titles is more or less random):

Jane Austen
Charles Dickens
George Eliot
Thomas Hardy
Ernest Hemingway
CS Lewis
George Orwell
John Steinbeck

We've divided the clues into 3 categories (easy, middling and hard) for convenience (although you may not agree with our categorisation ...). When you've identified as many book titles as you can send your answers to this email address by the end of July 2024:

Send your entry to this address.

You will then have a chance of winning our prize (a £50 voucher), with your odds of winning improving the more book titles that you can correctly guess. As a bonus, we will also reply with a full list of the answers (together with how each was derived), so you don't have to wait for a month to find out the secrets behind the one(s) that got away.

Obviously this is open to collusion and abuse! Please don't share the answers with anyone else when you receive them, publicise them on any website or sell them on the dark web.
