More interesting and useful new features being introduced into Excel Part five of a five-part series of blogs |
---|
Last month we blogged in detail about the new GROUPBY and PIVOTBY functions in Excel. This month we have 4 lighter new features: focus cells, colour pickers, Draw and Hold and some new templates.
|
When you're creating a new workbook there are now 3 Python templates that you can choose from:
Type python into the search box when creating a new workbook, and press Enter.
Here's what these templates do:
Template | Use it to | Example |
---|---|---|
Get started with Python in Excel | This excellent template will show you how to access Python formulae and functions from within your Excel worksheets. | |
Random data generator | This will generate a dataframe of random data within an Excel worksheet. | |
QR Code generator | Generate a QR code, choosing the style you want to use. |
The first and third templates solve two very specific needs: helping Python programmers to use their code in Excel, and generating QR codes. I'm not sure of the value of the middle template!
