In SQL Server Management Studio you can activate multiple text cursors at the same time. This allows you to edit code in multiple places at once!
In the example below I want to change my joins to left joins. Start by clicking where you want the first cursor:
I've clicked just before the first join.
Now hold Alt + Ctrl and click at each position you want to activate a new cursor:
I've clicked before each join to activate a new cursor.
Now you can edit the text in the usual way.
This is strangely satisfying!
It's even easier if you want to activate a cursor at the same position on a series of consecutive lines. Start by clicking where you want the first cursor
I've clicked just before the first join.
Now hold Alt + Shift and click where you want the last cursor:
I've clicked just before the last join to activate a cursor on every line in between.
