A fun guide to the correct use of punctuation

Here at Wise Owl we take clear English seriously.

Having said this, I've no doubt that we sometimes deviate from our own rules (the problem with occupying the moral high ground is that there's such a long way to fall from it!).

So big thanks to Sam for highlighting the excellent Oatmeal guides on the use of English and punctuation:

Here are some excellent summaries of particular aspects of the use of English, as presented by the Oatmeal:

Article	Notes
Using semi-colons	As it says in the screen-shot above: "the most feared punctuation on earth".
When to use "whom"	Who versus whom - avoid grammatical faux pas.
When to use an apostrophe	How to correctly use this much-abused punctuation character (nothing wrong with split infinitives though).
