Getting ChatGPT or Bard to help you write code in SQL, Python, VBA, Office Scripts, JQuery or C#

There is a lot of speculation about how mankind will use AI tools like ChatGPT and Bard in the future (wiping out the species? rendering armies of white-collar workers unemployed?), but there's already one obvious and concrete way in which they can improve your productivity. This series of blogs compares how ChatGPT 4 and Bard would solve the following problems:

Language	Question
SQL	"Write an SQL program for SQL Server to show the most-read books, joining a table of authors and a table of books together"
Python	"Create a Python function which - given a passage of text - will return a dictionary containing all of the unique words"
VBA	"Write a VBA program which will loop over the members of staff in a worksheet, finding all the staff members whose salaries are more than a given number and writing their personnel number, name and salary to a separate workbook"
C#	"Write a C# function which takes in a comma-delimited string of numbers and returns a list of integers"
OfficeScripts	"Write an OfficeScript program to loop over all of the worksheets in a given workbook, counting the number of active cells in each and presenting this information in a table in a separate workbook"
JQuery	"Create a JQuery block of code which will loop over all of the table cells in an HTML table which have a given class name, listing out the text contents of each cell returned"

I've deliberately committed myself to asking these questions in advance, as I don't want to second guess the skills of each AI tool. It's exciting: I genuinely don't know at this point of writing how each tool will fare!
