A central resource for all things M |
---|
The PQ How site contains both a reference guide to the M language and lots of links and resources for articles which will help you to learn it. |
When you use Query Editor to transform data before loading it into your Power BI model, you're writing M behind the scenes:
You can click on any query step to see the M that it has generated.
You can mostly get by in Query Editor without needing to master M, which is just as well as there's much to learn:
A small subset of the M date functions, which are themselves a small subset of the full M syntax.
If you do want to get started with M, you may find the PQ How website useful:
The Power Query How website contains a complete guide to the M language syntax.
The site was created by Rick de Groot, who some people may have come across in his other guise as the BI gorilla.
