This exercise is provided to allow potential course delegates to choose the correct Wise Owl Microsoft training course, and may not be reproduced in whole or in part in any format without the prior written consent of Wise Owl.
To avoid having to draw the form needed for this exercise, right-click on the name of your project in Solution Explorer then choose Add --> Existing Item... (you can also press SHIFT + ALT + A to do the same thing).
Choose only the file called frmApplication.cs in the above folder to import it into your project (you may need to overwrite existing files as you do this), then edit Program.cs to make this the default form. When you run your application, you should now see this (see hint below):
This form already includes full validation.
Wise Owl have thoughtfully added the names of the controls to the screen shot above!
The Apply button as it stands validates all of the data entered, then currently calls a routine which is commented out:
// if we get here, it's OK to do something with this data - so write out
// values entered to text file
// writeFormData();
Uncomment this procedure call, then write it! The writeFormData routine should write out to a text file all of an applicant's details. Here's what this text file might look like after you've written out a few records:

When you've got this working, close down your application and any open forms.
