Apply a mask to cost and revenue row for a year whose value can be chosen by a user

This exercise is provided to allow potential course delegates to choose the correct Wise Owl Microsoft training course, and may not be reproduced in whole or in part in any format without the prior written consent of Wise Owl.

Before you can do this exercise, you'll need to download and unzip this file .

This exercises is about creating a mask. First open up the workbook in the folder above - this includes an input cell for choosing which year you want to take off for a retreat:

Here you're taking 2025 off to recharge your batteries, but your years may have moved forward (you may need to reselect this value before you proceed).

Being a game show winner is hard work - make sure you take time off to recuperate.

Your retreat year will mean that you:

earn no money from touring (your downloads income should be unaffected)

spend no money on loose living (your daily expenses should be the same, though)

Create a mask and apply it to create your projected income and costs (the example below assumes that you take the third year off):

The mask has the effect of removing touring fees and loose living costs for the year in question

Check your mask works by trying different years in the RetreatYear range, then save this workbook as With mask and close it down.
