In Excel, you can click and drag the AutoFill handle to copy cells quickly in any direction.
Click and drag the little square up, down, left or right to copy the selected cell.
If you want to copy downwards, the quickest way is to double-click the AutoFill handle.
Double-click the little square in the bottom right corner of the selected cell.
This will copy the selected cell downwards to the height of its neighbouring column.
