In Excel you can change the widths of columns to fit their contents automatically. If you have only one column to autofit, you can double-click the right hand side of its column header.
Double-click between column C and D to autofit the width of column C.
You can also change multiple columns at the same time. To do this, select the cells whose values will control the column widths:
We've selected every cell containing data in this list.
Now press this sequence of keys (don't hold them down, just press one after the other): Alt, H, O, I
Each column will be sized according to the longest entry in the selected cells.
The keyboard shortcut sequence corresponds to selecting Home | Format | Autofit Column Width from the Excel ribbon.
