Open the RRH Maze.xlsx file. The aim of the exercise is to help Little Red Riding Hood navigate from her home in the city to grandma's cottage by the sea.
Stick to the path and beware of the wolf!
Create a new script called Move Right. Add an instruction which selects the cell that is one column to the right of the active cell using the getOffsetRange method.
Save the script and create a button to run it.
Create three more scripts called Move Left, Move Down, and Move Up which use the getOffsetRange method to move one cell in the appropriate direction. Add a button for each script.
You can change the button shape by choosing Shape Format | Edit Shape | Change Shape from the ribbon.
Select cell A2 and then use the buttons to move carefully through the forest until you reach cell H4. Feel free to give up if you get bored before this point!
Moving one cell at a time is slow. Grandma got bored of waiting and bought Little Red Riding Hood a motorbike for her birthday. This means that Little Red Riding Hood can move very fast in a straight line. Add a new script called Zoom Right. Write an instruction which:
Gets the active cell.
Jumps to the right using the getRangeEdge method.
Moves back one cell to the left using the getOffsetRange method.
Selects this cell.
Select cell A2 and then run the new script. Attach the script to a button.
If you have time, write three more scripts to jump left, down and up.
Save and close the workbook.
