Windows 10 support ends on October 14th 2025 |
---|
If you're still running computers on Windows 10, you should know that the support for this will end in October of this year. |
Windows 10 support is coming to an end on October 14th 2025! What this means is that MIcrosoft will stop researching and releasing software updates for vulnerabilities (there's a reason hackers target older versions of software).
One way to tell which version of Windows you have is to hold down the Windows key and press I (that's the letter between H and J):
The Windows key usually looks something like this, and can be found at the bottom left of your keyboard.
You can then look at your advanced settings:
Choose System on the left, and then About on the right (this screen shot is for Windows 11, but the Windows 10 one will be similar).
You can then see if you're safe!
This is my laptop, which is using version 24H2 of Windows, or Windows 11 Pro to its friends. Phew!
You can see more details about all of this at Microsoft's Windows product lifecycle page.
