A cornucopia of interesting websites for fans of "Severance" |
---|
Some interesting links for those - like me - who have watched seasons 1 and 2 of Apple's glossy sci-fi-cum-office-satire "Severance" |
In this blog
The genius concept behind Severance is that office workers voluntarily agree to have a chip embedded in their brain, which is activated when they arrive at work each morning and deactivated when they leave in the evening. Their innie (the day-time office worker) and outie (who they are outside of work) have no knowledge of each other's completely distinct lives.
"Severance" streamed on Apple TV (we subscribed to it temporarily through Amazon Prime). If you haven't already watched the whole of seasons 1 and 2 be warned that this webpage contains spoilers!
You can now play Macro Data yourself online at this Lumon Industries website:
The game is surprisingly addictive!
I'm not sure who Siena is, but I've a bad feeling about her future ...
Apple's website contains a spoof page announcing the new Lumon Terminal Pro:
Fancy a new Apple Mac? You could try this one (if only it were genuine).
You can click on the link beneath the picture to watch a moderately interesting 11-minute video showing how the last episode of Season 2 of Severance was edited (on an Apple Mac, naturally).
I wish Wise Owl Training had the marketing genius (and budget!) to stage something like this! On January 14th of this year Apple placed a mock-up of the Macro Data Refinement office in Grand Central Station in New York, complete with the main Severance actors playing their parts:
Incidentally, does anybody else think that Tramell Tillman (who plays Seth Milchick in the series) is one of the greatest comic actors of all time?
Apple have made a number of behind-the-scenes videos showing insights into how different episodes were made. Here's the one for one of my favourite episodes - the remembrance party for Irving:
If we've missed out your favourite Severance website - or if you understand exactly what's going on at Lumon Industries - please let us know by adding a post to this webpage.
