The idea behind this flow is to open the presentation in the above folder in PowerPoint and add text, pictures and slides to it to your taste!
Your flow should start by opening this empty presentation in PowerPoint.
Note that this is neither the best way to achieve this nor necessarily a sensible thing to do: this is very much an exercise in using Power Automate Desktop!
Start by creating a new flow called Open a PowerPoint presentation. Within this create an action to open the PowerPoint presentation in the folder shown at the start of this exercise:
Paste in the file path (which may be different to the one above) and file name, and PAD should open this presentation up in PowerPoint!
Step by step, add actions to mimic what you as a user would do to build up a presentation. Your flow is likely to use some combination of the following actions:
Action | Notes |
---|---|
Wait | Often you'll need to wait a second to ensure that the screen has caught up with what your flow has started. |
Send keys | It's often easier to do things by pretending to press keys (for example, pressing Enter rather than finding and clicking on a button). |
Populate text field in window | If you can unambiguously specify a UI element, you can use this to type text into it. |
Press button in window | Again you will need to create a UI element to make this work. |
You're allowed to use recording if it helps, although this won't allow you to reuse UI elements that you've created.
Test your flow out after each step to check it's going in the right direction, then when you've automated the creation of the presentation of your dreams breathe a sigh of relief and save and close your flow.
