Create a new Power BI file, and load both tables from the Excel workbook in the above folder.
Create the following table (eventually!). There are notes on how to create each of the columns below it.
You'll need to use measures for the last two columns.
The first 3 columns are straightforward: just summarise by the manager's nationality and show the sum of points teams of this nationality have scored, together with the number of teams per nationality.
The proportion of total points is a ratio between the following two figures:
Part of ratio | Calculation |
---|---|
Numerator | The total points won (use a simple SUM function) |
Denominator | The total points won for teams of all nationalities (combine a CALCULATE function with the ALL function, to remove any nationality constraint) |
You can do all of this in a single measure, but you may find it easier to create two separate measures and then create a third measure dividing one by the other.
The ratio of total points won for a nationality to total points won by English managers is given by these figures:
Part of ratio | Calculation |
---|---|
Numerator | The total points won (use a simple SUM function) |
Denominator | The total points won by English teams (replace the nationality constraint for any filter context with one which says that the nationality must be England). |
If you finish all this, save this file as We miss Alex, and close it down.
