Use the REMOVEFILTERS function to alter the way context filters behave in DAX measures.

Before you can do this exercise, you'll need to download and unzip this file .

Open the Music Tours - Calculate Remove Filters.pbix file in the folder shown above. On Page 1 you'll find a chart showing a count of tracks for different track lengths.

Annoyingly, the maximum value on the X-axis changes depending on the artist you select.

Create a measure to calculate the maximum value of the Track length total secs column, removing every filter. Use this measure to set the maximum value of the X-axis of the chart (you can use the chart's formatting properties to do this).

The X-axis should no longer change as you select different artists.

On Page 2 you'll find a matrix displaying the length of each Track, grouped by Artist and Album.

Create new measures to calculate the percentage that the Sum of track length total secs contributes to:

The Sum of track length total secs of all tracks in the album.
The Sum of track length total secs of all tracks by the artist.
The Sum of track length total secs of all tracks.

To return the total track length of an album you'll need to remove filters applied by the Track name field.

Add these measures to the matrix.

Apply some formatting to make the results easier to read.

Save and close the report.
