Open the Tallest Buildings - Disconnected Slicer.pbix report in the folder shown above. You'll find a table showing the average height of buildings in different countries.
Import the Country Picker worksheet from the Country List.xlsx file in the folder shown above. After importing it, check the model view to make sure that the newly imported table doesn't have any relationships to other tables in the model.
You might find a relationship is created automatically to the Country table. If so, delete it!
Add a slicer visual and assign the Country Name column from the CountryPicker table to it. Check that this slicer doesn't apply any filters to the table visual.
Selecting a country name in the slicer should have no effect on the table.
It's a good idea to set the slicer to allow only a single selection for this exercise.
Create a measure which works out the average height of buildings and then subtracts the average height of buildings for the country name selected in the slicer. You can use the SELECTEDVALUE function to return the selected country name. Display this measure in the table visual and apply some conditional formatting.
Data bars are a good way to highlight the positive and negative values.
Create a measure which concatenates the phrase Average building height vs with the name of the selected country. Assign this measure to the title of the table visual.
The title should change as you select different countries in the slicer.
Save and close the report.
