Import data from multiple Excel sheets and use in the Table visual

This exercise is provided to allow potential course delegates to choose the correct Wise Owl Microsoft training course, and may not be reproduced in whole or in part in any format without the prior written consent of Wise Owl.

Before you can do this exercise, you'll need to download and unzip this file .

Using Power BI Desktop, import data from the Excel file called Tallest Buildings.xlsx in the folder shown above.

Power BI Navigator

Tick all 3 boxes.

In Model view, use the Data pane to hide any ID fields. Your data model should look like this.

ID fields are hidden.

In Report view, add a table visual with the fields shown.

Yours may look different, see the hint below.

To stop the Year Opened being summed, use its dropdown in the Columns bucket to choose Don't Summarize.

Sort the table by Country, then Year Opened in ascending order.

Set sensible column headings.

Apply formatting to your table then add an image from the folder above, finish off with a suitable title for the report. You don't have to follow this Owl's colour scheme, let your creative juices flow!

Ensure that all the visuals are aligned neatly, then group them together.

Save the file as Formatted Report.pbix
