When you're displaying dates in a Power BI visual you might want to apply a filter to show data for only the latest year.
You can apply a filter manually by checking the box for the year you want to display.
The problem is that you'll need to change the filter manually when the data updates. Instead, we could use the Top N filter option.
Change from Basic filtering to Top N.
Set the Show items options to show the Top 1 and then drag the year field into the By value box. Change the By value option to use the Max of year field.
When your data updates the new maximum year will be used as a filter!
