In Power BI, when you first add a field from a dimension table to a visual, the visual will display each value from the field. In the example below, we've added the Year field from a date dimension table to a table visual:
Every year from our date dimension table appears in the visual.
When you add a column from a fact table to the same visual, you may find that some values from the dimension table disappear!
The 2018 item from the Year column has been hidden by the visual.
Power BI automatically hides items which have no data. Fortunately, it's easy to bring these items back if you want to see them.
To do this, in the field well, click the drop down arrow for the field which has hidden items and choose Show items with no data.
Choosing this option will display any years with no data in the visual.
