Sometimes in Power BI it'll be difficult to sort your data into the order that you want.
In this table visual I want to sort the Certificate column from youngest age rating to oldest rather than the default alphanumeric sorting.
In order to achieve the sorting I want, I need to sort the values of this column by the values stored in a different column.
To sort by a different column first switch to Table View.
Although you can sort columns in any view, it helps to see the data.
Select the column you want to sort.
I want to change the order of the Certificate column.
From the ribbon choose Column tools | Sort by column and then select the column to base the sorting on.
The column which contains the sorting order that I want to use is the Certificate ID column.
Check the visual to ensure it is sorted in the way you intended.
The Certificate column is now sorted from youngest to oldest.
