Profiling data in the Query Editor in Power BI can be a useful way of spotting potential problems before you import the data into your data model.
You can use profiling tools to identify errors in the data, identify where there might be missing values and identify where values repeat.
By default, the Query Editor only profiles the top 1000 rows of data.
Profiling on such a small sample has the potential to miss discrepancies in the data.
To ensure the Query Editor profiles across the whole data set, simply left-click on the profiling message at the bottom left of the screen and choose the appropriate option.
Base the profiling on the entire data set.
The ability to pick up discrepancies in the data has been improved.
