Create a matrix of actors by decade and gender - lots of extra complications in this one!

This exercise is provided to allow potential course delegates to choose the correct Wise Owl Microsoft training course, and may not be reproduced in whole or in part in any format without the prior written consent of Wise Owl.

Before you can do this exercise, you'll need to download and unzip this file .

Create a dataset listing out the gender, date of birth and id number for each actor (omitting the actors whose date of birth is not filled in):

Your dataset should return 337 actors

Now create a matrix to show the number of actors by gender and decade of birth (some notes are shown below):

Proof that in acting, at any rate, men live longer?

Here are some notes to "help" you!

You'll need to group the rows by an expression such as =left(year(Fields!ActorDOB.Value),3) & "0s", and sort by this too

You need to create - and format - row and column subtotals

You need to set a background colour for each matrix cell which depends on the value of the count of actors for the cell or else (if this is one or more) on the Gender field

When (if?) you've finished, save this report as Colourful, then close it down.
