Date fields in SSRS will by default show as US style, Month/Day/Year.
SSRS table showing an unformatted date.
A common method used to change the date format is to select the date cell of the table in Design view, right click and choose Text box properties.
In every version of SSRS this owl has used since 2008, the setting shown above has never used the regional settings and still shows US style.
This method will show UK style dates if you choose 31/01/2000 without the asterisk but it is a bit long winded to simply change the date style.
A much quicker method is to select the date field cell of the table then go to the Properties pane.
Find the Format property in the Number group.
You can now enter a date format using combinations of d for day, M for month and y for year. You must use capital M for month but the d and y should be in lower case.
I've gone slightly overboard with the custom date style.
Oddly, when you have typed the style their is no form of confirmation. You can press Enter or just click away from the selected Format property.
A formatted date without having to navigate various dialog boxes.
