If you don't have a copy of the Music_01 database, follow the instructions at the following link to create it: www.wiseowl.co.uk/sql/exercises/standard/using-sql-server/5257/
Create a new script and use the SELECT INTO syntax to copy the contents of the Artist table into a new table called Musicians. Execute the script to create the new table.
You may need to refresh the Object Explorer to see your new table appear.
If you run the script again you'll receive an error.
You can't create the table if it already exists.
Use the DROP TABLE IF EXISTS syntax to delete any existing copy of the Musicians table before you attempt to create it. Add a SELECT statement to select everything from the Musicians table and execute the script again to make sure that it works.
The final row in the table should be this "famous" band.
After many years of success, The Wise Owls disbanded in 2024. Add an UPDATE statement to the script to reflect this. Don't forget to include a WHERE clause so that only one artist is affected.
It was all Yoko Onowl's fault.
After disbanding, some former members of the band started solo careers. Use an INSERT statement to add two rows to the Musicians table as shown below:
The Artist_ID values will be assigned automatically.
Unfortunately, Andy Brownowl's first recording session went so badly that the record producer cut off his own ears. Subsequently, the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry mandated that all evidence of Andy's solo career be expunged from the records. Use a DELETE statement to remove this row from the table.
Gone and best forgotten.
Save the script as Solowl Artists.sql and then close it.
