Use a derived table subquery in SQL Server to categorise a list of venues by size.

Before you can do this exercise, you'll need to download and unzip this file .

If you don't have a copy of the Music_01 database, follow the instructions at the following link to create it: www.wiseowl.co.uk/sql/exercises/standard/using-sql-server/5257/

Open the Venue Sizes.sql file from the folder shown above. You'll find a query which calculates some values for a list of venues.

Some of the values may be different when you run the query.

Your job is to use the existing query as a derived table subquery in the FROM clause of another SELECT statement. Begin by adding a new SELECT FROM statement above the existing query.

Don't worry about the syntax errors for now.

Now wrap the subquery in a set of round brackets and assign an alias to it.

This will help with some of the syntax errors.

Modify the outer query to group the results by the Venue_size column and show the following statistics:

These results have been sorted in descending order of the Avg_Cost_$m column.

Save and close the file.
