Use a WHILE loop in SQL to count albums reaching different chart positions.

This exercise is provided to allow potential course delegates to choose the correct Wise Owl Microsoft training course, and may not be reproduced in whole or in part in any format without the prior written consent of Wise Owl.

Before you can do this exercise, you'll need to download and unzip this file .

If you don't have a copy of the Music_01 database, follow the instructions at the following link to create it: www.wiseowl.co.uk/sql/exercises/standard/using-sql-server/5257/

Open the Album Countdown.sql file in the folder shown above. You'll find the outline of a script to create a stored procedure.

Add a WHILE loop which counts down to 1 from the number passed in to the @FromChartPosition parameter.

Inside the loop, add a PRINT statement which shows a count of albums at each chart position processed by your loop. You can use the US_Billboard_200_peak column to do this.

Create the procedure and then use a new script to test that it works.
