Create scalar-valued functions in SQL Server to extract information in a list of venues.

Before you can do this exercise, you'll need to download and unzip this file .

Open the Venue Values.sql file in the folder shown above. You'll find a query which returns a list of venues.

Some of the information you'll see when you execute the query.

Create a user-defined function to extract the first line of the Address for each venue i.e. everything up to but not including the first comma.

You'll find the CHARINDEX and LEFT functions useful to do this. You may have to deal with addresses which don't contain commas, or venues which don't have addresses.
