When you make a syntax error in VBA, the VB Editor tries to tell you what you've done wrong in the form of a popup message. These messages are rarely helpful!
I can see that I've missed a double-quote character, but that's not what the message tells me!
To switch off these messages, choose Tools | Options... from the VB Editor menu. Uncheck the Auto Syntax Check option then click OK.
Uncheck this box to suppress the popup messages.
Now you can make all the syntax errors you like without being interrupted by annoying popups!
Syntax errors will still be highlighted in red.
This is especially helpful when you want to click away from a line that you haven't yet finished writing (usually to copy some code from elsewhere).
