An evaluation of DeepSeek compared to other AI tools Part six of an eight-part series of blogs |
---|
Much has been made in the media of how the new Chinese AI tool DeepSeek rivals almost anything that the likes of ChatGPT can offer. Does it? |
For this test we ask the following prompt:
"Create an image in the style of a Constable painting of a kangaroo bungee-jumping above a river. The kangaroo should look excited, but scared too."
After one unsuccessful attempt (the DeepSeek server was "busy") I got a text prompt, but apparently DeepSeek doesn't do images (but read on):
In fairness, at the time I did my original AI tool comparison neither Claude nor Gemini could produce images either.
Apparently DeepSeek has released an image creation GPT called Janus, although there doesn't seem to be a website interface to this just yet.
