Microsoft have added a new button slicer to the visualisations ribbon:

The new button slicer is in preview, but it's turned on by default.

This allows you to create slicers like this, for example:

This button slicer has had formatting, images and hover effects applied.

Rather than try to squeeze this change into a single blog page, we've created this separate blog showing how you can create and format the new button slicer.

There are more slicer changes to come. Here's what the ever-so-gushy MIcrosoft Power BI update blog has to say on the subject: "Remember, this was only the first stage on the new slicer roadmap.
