Power BI Desktop Update - April 2022 Part one of a two-part series of blogs |
---|
A small update this month, with the main change being the addition of a few formatting options for matrices and chart legends.
We've been creating our idiosyncratic monthly blogs on Power BI updates since November 2016, and also deliver online and classroom Power BI courses. |
The only real change this month for most users of Power BI Desktop is the introduction of a few new formatting options for matrices and chart legends. However, in the interests of completeness I should also mention the following changes:
Change | Notes |
---|---|
Bookmark navigator | The bookmark navigator now retains any selection you've made. This is a complex change which obviously fixes a feature which was annoying people, but I don't think it merits a separate blog page. |
Dynamic M query parameters | You can now change the value of a parameter in Power BI using a slicer or filter. This sounds of great interest, but it seems to be limited to imports using Direct Query from Azure Data Explorer, which makes it just that bit too niche to be of general interest. |
Formatting updates | Microsoft have included a smattering of additional formatting options in the new formatting pane (which you're probably now using, as it was turned on by default in February). However, these seem to be just obscure settings overlooked in previous updates. |
In addition, it's worth adding that the modern visual tooltips feature announced a few months ago - while still in preview - does sound like it's getting closer to release!
